Casa Brivio is located inside a building dating back to the 15th century, between the Velasca tower and the Columns of San Lorenzo in Milan. It is a hotel of sixteen suites, all different, equipped with a hidden kitchen. The hotel is spread over two buildings from the 60s and 70s in rationalist style, located in the most recent wing of the family’s Renaissance palace. The project aimed to preserve the original design of the house while integrating the Milanese interior style of the rationalist period. Quotes from these years can also be found inside such as the wallpapers, the brass details and the dusty colours. Touches of modernity, starting from the reception at the entrance, alternate with details that pay homage to the past, such as the diamond pattern on the ceiling and the boiserie on the wall. The bathrooms, inspired by the style of Piero Portaluppi, historic architect of the Milanese bourgeoisie of the last century, have Venetian terrazzo floors and have been set up with the neoclassical style of the Canova collection for the sinks and with suspended vases from the Sfera collection by Catalano.
