Under the Star Game Reserve

These private residences are located on Libocká Street, next to the historical Hvězda reserve in Prague, on a fascinating plot with a 14-metre difference in height and a sandstone cliff between 8 and 10 metres high. The architectural intervention embraces the beauty of the place, proposing three houses that respect the existing rural structure. Oriented following the cliff face to the south, the houses reflect a harmonious dialogue between nature and construction, with minimalist forms developed in collaboration with clients and authorities.
Gabled roofs soften the visual impact, creating a balance between the urban character of the street façade and the wild gardens above. The elevated structures seem to float, thanks to the use of white plaster, natural wood, white corrugated sheet metal and glass, enhanced by galvanised steel details and grey fencing. The interiors, with exposed concrete surfaces, white plaster, oak floors and integrated furniture, offer a serene and refined ambience. The dwellings, with two residential floors and an attic, are designed for comfort and efficiency. Heating is provided by air-water heat pumps, while ventilation with heat recovery and air conditioning ensure an ideal climate. These homes, built to passive energy standards, embody the harmony between innovation and nature. The bathrooms feature Catalano’s Premium collection.
